Toyota Hilux is one of the most impressive versatile vehicles in the world, so it seems fair if Japan gets a production car design changes and energy for model year 2012.



Hilux will be present with anti-lock brakes system (ABS) on all wheels, although Toyota’s car did not mention anything about ESP standard. The new model will also be available in more variants, including new models, the entry-level, as colleagues, offering visual revisions to the front and rear, as well as new seats and interior door trim.






Dashboard design has been improved with the horizontal center of the instrument cluster, a broader and more spacious cabin and equipped with multimedia unit Toyota Touch a full color touch screen measures 6.1 inches.

Toyota said the quality of materials has been revised and all colors are matched together to make it more uniform with the addition of silver ornaments. Above the HiLux Vigo from Thailand is “fairly representative” of the facelifted model that will be sold locally. The headlights are bolder and squarer, similar to the LandCruiser 200 Series, while the grille adopts a strong three-bar layout. The design of the lower bumper also appears chunkier, giving the HiLux a solid stance.

 



For the 2012 model Hilux is available in four classes: DLX, New DLX +, SR and SR +. New classes + DLX is available in 2 variants: 2WD or 4WD. In the 2WD variant using 2500 cc engine D-4D manual transmission mated to the body Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab. While the 3,000 cc engine 4WD wearing D-4D manual transmission, only Double Cab body.




Toyota confirmed there would not be significant changes to the engines or transmissions offered in the upgraded HiLUX range, with the current offerings to be carried over into the new model. However, the 2500 cc engine D-4D got a power increase of 24 hp, thanks to the introduction of the variable nozzle turbocharging. The diesel engine is now powered 144 hp at 3600 rpm and torque of 343 Nm (252 lb-ft) at 2000 rpm. Hilux 2012 will be produced at Toyota Motor Thailand and Toyota Motor South Africa, and will be available in 36 European countries, and more than 135 countries around the world. The plan, deliveries will begin in September.
